Livsrum Therapy, LLC Last Updated: 08/27/2026
Livsrum Therapy, LLC ("Livsrum Therapy," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit www.livsrumtherapy.com (the "Site") or communicate with our practice by phone, text message, email, or through our client portal.
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the Site and general business communications. It does not replace or modify our Notice of Privacy Practices, which governs Protected Health Information ("PHI") under HIPAA and is provided separately to clients at intake. Where clinical/health information is involved, our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices controls.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
Contact information you provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, and mailing address, when you submit a form, request an appointment, or contact us
Communications you send us, including messages submitted through contact forms, email, text message, and the client portal
Appointment and scheduling information submitted through our Site or client portal
Billing and insurance information, where applicable, collected through intake and billing processes
Technical information, such as IP address, browser type, and general usage data, collected automatically through standard website analytics tools
Health information, which is collected separately during intake and treatment and is protected under HIPAA as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, not this Privacy Policy
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Respond to appointment requests and inquiries
Schedule, confirm, and remind you of appointments
Communicate with you about intake paperwork, billing, and administrative matters
Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
Send text messages under the SMS Program described in Section 4 below, where you have opted in
We do not use your contact information for unrelated marketing purposes without your consent, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
Service providers: With vendors who help us operate our practice, such as our client portal/EHR provider, scheduling and communications platform (including our CRM/text messaging system), payment processor, and website hosting provider. These vendors are authorized to use your information only as needed to provide services to us and are contractually obligated to safeguard it.
Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of you or others.
Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of practice assets, subject to continued confidentiality protections.
With your consent: In any other circumstance where you have provided specific consent.
We do not share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes, as described further in Section 4.
4. Text Messaging (SMS) Privacy
If you opt in to receive text messages from Livsrum Therapy through our forms, client portal, or by texting our practice number:
Your mobile phone number and SMS consent are collected solely to send you appointment reminders, scheduling communications, intake/paperwork follow-ups, billing notices, and related practice-administrative messages.
No mobile information, including phone numbers or opt-in/consent status, will be shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing with subcontractors that support our internal operations (for example, our messaging/CRM platform provider) is permitted solely so they can deliver the SMS Program on our behalf, and this data is excluded from any other use case or data-sharing category.
You may withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to any text message, or by contacting us directly at [practice email] or [practice phone number].
Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency will vary based on your appointment activity.
See our Terms of Service for the full SMS Program terms.
5. Cookies and Analytics
Our Site may use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve functionality. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies, though some parts of the Site may not function properly if you do so.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please note that standard text messaging (SMS) is not an encrypted, fully secure communication channel; avoid sending sensitive clinical details by text.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with our legal and licensing obligations (including applicable state recordkeeping requirements for mental health records), and resolve disputes. Clinical records are retained in accordance with the requirements of the states in which services are rendered (DC, MD, VA, and FL) and are addressed further in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information we hold about you, subject to our legal and recordkeeping obligations. Requests related to clinical/health records are handled under our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
